How to use MiPermit for a pay and stay

Each of our car parks has a 'Location Code' which identifies where you are parking. The 'Location Codes' are 6 digit codes which are stated on the charges boards within the car parks.

Ways to pay

To make parking your vehicle as easy as possible with MiPermit, you can pay for your parking by using:

MiPermit costs

  • 10p per transaction (added to parking charge), No top up fee when paying for extra time
  • 10p for a text reminder, when parking duration is due to expire (added to parking charge)

Digital permits

From 4 July 2023, customers will be gradually moved over to MiPermit. Paper permits will no longer be issued. For more information about going digital, please visit our Digital Controlled Parking Zones page.

How to create a Mipermit account for on street permits

To register for a Mipermit account please visit MiPermit online. To apply for a resident permit, you will need to supply your council tax account number.

  • Can purchase a stay up to 7 days in advance
  • Can extend the parking time without returning to the car

  • There are no permit replacement charges
  • Permit/Pay and Display tickets cant be lost, stolen or fall from view in the vehcile
  • Customers no longer need to make time to visit/contact the council because a permit can be managed online.
