The council currently provides 19 public conveniences. Further facilities are provided by Selsey, Fernhurst and West Wittering Town and Parish Councils. The majority of sites are closed at night.

The council's public toilets are cleaned by external contractors and are open every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Obtaining a RADAR key

RADAR keys can be obtained from the District Council offices in Chichester and Midhurst, from Chichester District Council Tourist Information Centres or from other outlets nationally.

Simply take along your 'blue badge' and £5.00 deposit.

Changing Places

Standard accessible toilets do not meet the needs of all people with a disability. Changing Places toilets generally provide extra facilities, such as a height adjustable bench with a ceiling hoist to allow safe transfer form a wheel chair.

Currently the District Council provide a Changing Places toilet within the Northgate car park public convenience building, Chichester, PO19 1BL. These are unmanned and accessible with a RADAR key. To use the hoist you will need your own harness.

The opening hours are:

  • Summer (between 3rd week in May to end of 2nd week in Sept.) 07.00 - 19.30hrs
  • Winter (between 3rd week in Sept. and end of 2nd week in May) 07.00 - 18.00hrs

There are other fully accessible facilities within the district provided by other organisations.
