Electric vehicle charging points

Chichester District Council is committed to developing a cleaner, safer and less car-dominated environment throughout the district. To support this, we now have twenty electric vehicle charging points located across many of our car parks with Mer (opens new window). This is to meet the growing number of electric vehicles and the demand for charging amenities. Providing charge points is a step towards a more sustainable district and we hope to encourage the uptake of low emission vehicles.

Finding a charge point

A combination of fast electric vehicle charging points are located in:

  • Bosham - Bosham Lane car park
  • Chichester - East Pallant car park
  • Chichester - Northgate car park
  • Chichester - Avenue de Chartres car park
  • Chichester - Freeland Close, Fishbourne
  • East Wittering - Northern Crescent car park
  • Midhurst - North Street car park
  • Petworth - Pound Street car park
  • Selsey - East Street car park

To find all of Mer's public charge points please visit their mapĀ also called driver portal (opens new window). No registration is required to see a charger's location and charge on the Mer network. For information about how to sign up to use the charging points, please visit Mer (opens new window).

In line with the conditions of the car park, vehicles are only able to park in these bays whilst they are charging and all customers should ensure that payment for parking is made.

Customers will be required to pay the connection fee to the charge point, (currently 96p) along with the electricity used (currently 18p per kW hr).
