Policies map
The adopted policies map shows the geographical extent of policies in the local plan. This includes the policies in the adopted Chichester Local Plan 2021 - 2039 and Site Allocation DPD 2014 - 2029 plus policies in the West Sussex Joint Mineral Local Plan and the West Sussex Waste Local Plan. It also shows the policies within completed neighbourhood plans.
In addition, the map shows a number of other designations that are referred to, but not defined by the local plan (such as conservation areas and local nature reserves). The flood zones are contained within the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment layers.
Local plan policies not shown on the map apply across the whole plan area (all of Chichester District excluding the area within the South Downs National Park).

Map layers and legend
There is much information shown on the map. To make it easier to view, the features have been grouped into map layers and each layer can be switched off and on as you scroll down the Map Categories menu. The map features defined by the Local Plan can only be updated by the adoption of a new Local Plan document, whereas the features that are referred to in (but not defined by) the Local Plan may change over time and the map will be updated periodically to reflect the latest position.
