In light of the ever changing circumstances in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, at this time there continues to be alterations to the way some of our services are delivered.

Enforcement

  • Enforcement continues as normal at this time.
  • CEOs have a key highway safety role. Their duties include keeping road networks clear for our emergency services, enforcing yellow lines/loading bays and disabled bays so that particular vehicles can still access the places they need to go and do not have to contend with dangerously parked vehicles or inconsiderate parking.
  • CEOs continue to respond to reports of inconsiderate or unsafe parking. Please report a parking problem.

Cashless pay & stay using MiPermit

  • Customers using MiPermit to pay for parking will benefit from contactless and Covid-19 safe way to pay for their stay. Download the App now to make parking even easier.

  • Season tickets are also available to purchase for many of our car parks on MiPermit.

Car park season tickets

  • Parking charges operate in Chichester District Council car parks
  • Season tickets are available to purchase for many of our car parks.
  • Make sure you choose the correct start date when buying your new season ticket.
  • If your season ticket has expired, please visit MiPermit to buy a new one.
  • If you cancelled your season ticket as you did not require parking and would like to buy another one, please visit MiPermit  and log into your account to 'Buy Digital Permits'.

NHS support

Covid 19 testing sites in car parks

Chichester District Council is assisting the NHS test and trace service by providing them with a section of Northgate car park for a new walk in test site. The site has been operational since 16 October 2020. The majority of the car park remains open for visitors and unaffected by the test site.

NHS government parking pass

  • The government has withdrawn the parking pass for NHS staff members, health or social care workers, or NHS Volunteer Responders from the 21 June 2021. Alternative parking arrangements for those using these permits will need to be arranged.

Resident & student permits

  • Parking restrictions have continued to operate on street throughout the health crisis.
  • If you want to buy a permit, check that your property is in a Zone by visiting our resident permits webpage and view the document 'What zone am I in?'.
  • To renew your permit, please visit our resident permits webpage.
  • If you are currently unable to provide evidence to support a permit, please let us know so we can assist you. Please email parkingservices@chichester.gov.uk.
  • It is still a requirement to display a permit when parking so if there's a reason why you can't, please let us know so we can assist you. 

Carer & healthcare permits

  • Parking restrictions have continued to operate throughout the health crisis.
  • If you are currently unable to provide evidence to support a permit, please let us know so we can assist you, you can email parkingservices@chichester.gov.uk.
  • It is still a requirement to display a permit when parking so if there's a reason why you can't, please let us know so we can assist you. 
  • We continue to provide permits at the normal charges. However, resident dispensations continue to be available. It is still necessary to obtain a valid permit if parking in a permit holder parking place.

Visitor permits

  • For Zones F, G, H, H2, J, K, L, M, N and O, you can buy resident visitor permits by visiting our resident visitor permits page .
  • For Zones A and S, please visit MiPermit to purchase digital visitor permits.
  • To purchase a visitor permit, we will need to confirm you are a resident. We will do this by your checking proof of residency before payment is taken. Once your residency is confirmed, we will post your permits to you.

Resident dispensations

  • Dispensation notices are available until 30 September 2021 for residents who need to park on-street who have been furloughed or who are moving onto the reduced hours scheme.
  • Evidence of furlough/reduced hour scheme will need to be provided on application.
  • The dispensation costs £5 and is valid for 1 month. To buy a dispensation notice, please visit MiPermit online
  • A dispensation is valid in Permit Holder and Shared Use Bays and not yellow lines, taxi ranks, loading bays or disabled bays.
  • The dispensation notice covers Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) and not off-street car parks.
  • When appling, you will need to provide the following information:
    • Full name
    • Email address
    • Contact phone number
    • Your vehicle registration mark
  • Where a CPZ is at full capacity and a resident permit waiting lists applies, a dispensation will not be issued. In these circumtances, alternative parking should be arranged which may include, Resident Visitor Permits, Non-Resident Permits or car park season tickets.

Non residents permits / traders permits

  • Parking restrictions have continued to operate on street throughout the health crisis.
