The nomination period starts on Tuesday 30 March and ends at 4pm on Thursday 8 April 2021.

During the same period, people can apply as a candidate for all ten county divisions for the West Sussex County Council election, as well as a Chichester City Council by-election to fill a vacancy for the West Ward.

All three elections will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021 alongside the Police and Crime Commissioner election.

Anyone wishing to stand as a candidate can ask for nomination forms from the Elections Office at Chichester District Council by calling: 01243 521010 or emailing: elections@chichester.gov.uk to have them emailed out.

Nomination papers must be submitted by hand to the (Deputy) Returning Officer at Chichester District Council and must be received by 4pm on Thursday 8 April 2021.

The successful candidates will serve on Southbourne Parish Council until May 2023, Chichester City Council until May 2023, and on West Sussex County Council until May 2025.

Chichester District Council is also reminding district residents to register to vote for the May elections by midnight on 19 April. Registering can be done online at: Gov.uk - register to vote .
