Chichester District Council is currently developing a new events strategy, which aims to provide a year round programme of events to entertain, educate and inspire residents and visitors across the district. To help shape this work, the council will be asking residents and businesses to say what events they would like to see in the district by taking part in a short survey.

The consultation starts on Monday 27 May and the deadline for responding is midnight on 29 July 2019.

People can give their views online on our website. There is also a list of frequently asked questions to help put the survey into context and explain some of the terms used. Residents can request a paper copy of the questionnaire by emailing

Questions include: how people feel about the number of events currently held in the district, what would encourage them to attend a particular event, and when and where people would like to see more events.

"We're delighted to have recently employed an Events Officer to shape and manage a new events strategy for the district, and we're really keen to find out what our residents and businesses want to see," says Laurence Foord, Divisional Manager for Communications, Licensing and Events at Chichester District Council.  "The Chichester Vision has identified that developing an events programme could bring significant benefits to the city, its residents, businesses and visitors, as well as the district as a whole."
