• Q:

How will you select a developer?

    A:

The council, along with its partners, will use a transparent procurement process to ensure that the selection is fair. This process will test interested developers' experience and financial strength to make sure that they can successfully deliver the project.

  • Q:

When will you select a developer?

    A:

This decision has been made and a partner selected. The chosen developer will be announced shortly.

  • Q:

What happens when you have selected a developer?

    A:

Following the selection, the chosen developer will then expand on their ideas and present these to the public in spring 2020.

  • Q:

Will the public be able to influence who is appointed?

    A:

The rules on appointment are very strict and the process must be objective. Because of this, the selection will be made by senior officers and members with experience of the development process, with advice from suitably experienced external advisors. Although members of the public will not be involved in the appointment, they will be able to provide feedback on the ideas presented by the selected developer. Further details about how you can be involved will be provided nearer the time.

  • Q:

How can developers show their interest in working on the project?

    A:

The date for developers to express an interest in the project has now passed. However, if you wish to express interest as a potential occupier, please see our 'Information for prospective funders and occupiers' Southern Gateway web page.
