West Sussex County Council Highway Rangers

The Highway rangers service is run by West Sussex County Council. There are three two man teams that cover the county responding to locally identified issues from residents, parishes, councillors and partner organisations. They operate on a five week rolling basis covering a county committee area in turn.

This is a vital resource to provide an additional tool to keep Chichester Tidy.

Some of the work they undertake:

  • Cutting back overgrown vegetation.
  • Sign cleaning.
  • Removing unlawful signs.
  • Renovation of WSCC street furniture
  • Litter clearance of verges and hedgerows.

If you identify an area within your community that requires the services of the Highway Rangers please contact them for more information.
