Place survey

Place Survey September to December 2008

The Place Survey was a postal questionnaire sent out to a random sample of 3000 households across the District between September and December 2008. The survey aimed to find out how people felt about their local areas and local authorities. The questions were set by the Department for Communities and Local Government. Many of the questions reflected National Indicators and the results of these are used to measure an authority's performance. Overall, 1371 responses to the questionnaire were received and analysed.

Results were made available in June 2009 with further publications in September 2009. In the related documents section of this page you will find a summary of Chichester District's results including a question by question analysis. A further document provides graphs comparing Chichester's performance for some questions to results for West Sussex County, the South East Region and England. Full results can be found on the Government's data website.
