Many of our car parks have achieved the Safer Car Park Award.
These include:
The blue and white Help Points are a direct connection to us. They provide 24-hour emergency assistance if you are in distress, require help or wish to pass on information. Police officers can be summoned immediately to the scene if required. The Avenue de Chartres multi-storey car park has Help Points on all floors.
CCTV cameras are located in all of the city centre car parks. The CCTV system operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CCTV cameras have also been installed in the car parks in Midhurst, Petworth, Selsey and Bosham.
The coach/lorry park is located in Via Ravenna, opposite the Westgate Centre. Coaches can park 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday at a cost of £2 for up to two hours and £5 for more than two hours. Outside of these times, coaches and lorries can park for free.
Free secured motorcycle parking is available in Little London and Baffins Lane car parks. A free motorcycle parking area has also been provided just inside the entrance to the Cattle Market car park.
Civil Parking Officers enforce the parking regulations in the streets and car parks in the district. In addition to issuing penalty charge notices, they also control the use of the parking area and are there to assist if information or help is needed.
