ICIS finds help, and signposts to services, for people of all ages in West Sussex who need support, care or advice because of a disability or difficulty in their lives.

This site is for carers in West Sussex and aims to help put carers in touch with local support and services and to give support to carers in every way it can.

As a Carer you are entitled to an assessment if you provide, or intend to provide, regular and substantial amounts of care.

If you worry about what would happen if you were taken ill and unable to tell anyone that someone depends on you, the West Sussex Carers Emergency Alert Card scheme can help.

Social care services available for children and young people include family support, short-term breaks, fostering, residential and leaving care, and adoption services.

You can contact us about a child or young person by phone, textphone, fax, e-mail, letter or by visiting us. Or you may prefer someone, such as a friend or your GP, to contact us for you.

The county council provides day service activities across West Sussex for people with varying needs.

In West Sussex, we work in partnership with people who use our services, with carers, and with statutory and non-statutory agencies to plan and deliver home care services.

If you have substantial caring responsibilities, you may find it very difficult to get time to pursue your own leisure activities. Short breaks - sometimes known as respite care - allow you to have some time for yourself.
