Recycling, rubbish and waste

Waste management services help make the district a cleaner, safer and more environmentally friendly place to live and work. We operate a twin-bin alternate weekly collection with recyclables removed one week and general waste the next. Other services include the collection of:

• garden waste
• large household items (including sofas, beds and washing machines)
• clinical waste such as needles
• commercial waste and recycling

The efforts of residents have meant that we have achieved one of the best recycling rates in the country for our collections. But with landfill sites running out across the county, we can do even more. Please visit the Recycling section of this site for top tips on composting and reducing waste.

Please note that West Sussex County Council provides 11 household waste recycling sites for the public use.
