Council budgets and spending

The district council currently spends over £72m each year on your behalf on delivering services to the community. The money comes partly from your local taxes,and partly from central government grants which flow from national taxation. We buy goods and services locally wherever possible to the extent the law allows and all our activities are monitored and checked by external auditors.
