Community and living

Staying safe and secure
We play a key role within the community, from offering grants to tackling anti-social behaviour. This section offers information on:
- how we support young people and the Youth Council, including details about our popular SNAP dance nights
- the amazing work that our Careline Centre offers to vulnerable residents. Acting as a lifeline to thousands across the district, our round-the-clock service and range of technology ensures that they can live independently in their own homes.
- halls and community centres with rooms available to hire
- the six community forums set up to discuss common issues and priorities
- community grants to assist the voluntary sector, help local people take action to address important issues in their areas and enable farmers and foresters in rural areas with local initiatives
- safeguarding children
- crime prevention, including Neighbourhood Watch and community wardens
