We operate both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction schemes.

Council Tax Reduction gives people on a low income help towards their Council Tax bill. You will automatically be given a reduction on your Council Tax account if you qualify for Council Tax Reduction.

Housing Benefit provides people on a low income with assistance towards their housing costs. If you qualify for Housing Benefit and pay rent to a registered social landlord/housing association, it will usually be paid directly to them. If you live in private rented accommodation, you or your landlord will be sent your Housing Benefit rent allowance, either by cheque or to a bank account.
