"The affordable housing has been designed to fit in with the local surroundings and will be for local people in perpetuity," says Cllr Janet Duncton, Cabinet Member for Planning and Housing.

"There are currently over 40 households listed on the council's housing register with a local connection to the parish of Birdham. We have been working with the community for some time, and believe that the proposal will help local people that are in need of affordable housing. We want to consult with local residents about the design and quality of the proposal. This event will be a great opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the plans."

The event has been organised by the Chichester Rural Housing Partnership, which consists of Chichester District Council and Hyde Martlet. Staff from the partnership will be present to discuss the proposal, show other recent successful schemes, and answer any questions that the community may have on the scheme and the development process.
