Flooding

Introduction

If water is coming into your property now, do the following immediately. Phone 999 and ask for the fire brigade. Follow the advice on what you should do. To report flooding, where you are not in immediate danger, contact the Environment Incident hotline.


This section provides practical information and guidance about preparing for a flood, what to do during a flood and recovering from a flood. There is also information about the health and safety implications of a flooding and advice on insurance.

Please note - Chichester District Council will supply sandbags to vulnerable households only. In most circumstances there will be a charge for this service. See the Preparing for flooding page for more information and check as to whether you are eligible before phoning Chichester District Council.
