Scheduled monuments and historic parks and gardens

There are other categories within the historic landscape which have been identified as worthy of preservation.  These include historic parks and gardens such as those at Goodwood House; and scheduled ancient monuments like parts of the Chichester City Walls.  There are no statutory controls over the Historic Parks and Gardens Register, however any works to a scheduled monument do requires consent from English Heritage.  For more information see the English Heritage website.
