TreesTrees are an important feature in both the rural and urban environments. The Trees Project aims to support and encourage the planting and aftercare of native tree species in appropriate places. Trees not only improve the quality of life for local people; they play an important role in natural cycles. Trees are important for wildlife and for timber products and by-products. The Trees Project supports existing initiatives such as the black poplar campaign and the Millennium tree scheme. It also focuses on new schemes, working with the Tree Warden Initiative and bodies such as BTCV and Sussex Wildlife Trust. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer Tree Warden in your local area through the Tree Council Scheme (training will be provided), please contact West Sussex Tree Wardens. |
