Gear up for Bike WeekIntroductionBudding cyclists of all ages in the Chichester District are invited to take part in Bike Week, from Saturday 16 to Sunday 24 June. Bike Week is the UK's largest mass-participation cycling event with activities happening up and down the country. In the Chichester District, there's plenty on offer, including:
Local schools have also been invited to take part in Bike Week by holding a 'Bling Your Bike' competition. There will be prizes for the best three decorated bikes. The prizes have been donated by the county council. Councillor John Connor, Cabinet Member for Environment at Chichester District Council, says: "If you are thinking about getting on your bike, whether it is for the first time or to rediscover the benefits of cycling, then Bike Week is the perfect time to start. We want to encourage as many people as possible get on their bikes. Cycling will give your health a boost and it is good for the environment. There will be lots of information available to help you on your way including maps and cycling tips."
