For those who want to get off the diet roller coaster and lose weight slowly through healthy eating then the Wellbeing Weight Loss Workshops offer the perfect solution. The 12-week programme is designed to help people lose weight - and keep it off.

The workshops cover a wide variety of topics from challenging the myths about diets, right through to how stress and lack of sleep may affect weight gain.

Each week the nutritionist works with each individual and takes a detailed look at their eating habits and lifestyle to help them lose weight and get back on track.

  • Westgate Leisure Centre, Chichester on Tuesday 12 September, 7pm;
  • Westgate Leisure Centre, Chichester on Wednesday 13 September,10am;
  • The Selsey Centre, Thursday 12 September, 12.15pm; and
  • The Grange Leisure and Community Centre, Midhurst, Wednesday 13 September, 2pm.

The workshops cost £2.50 per week and include a private weekly weigh-in and group discussion. Anyone paying for ten weeks at the start of the course will receive two weeks free.

"These workshops have been running for a number of years now and we always receive excellent feedback from clients," says Councillor Eileen Lintill, Cabinet Member for Community Services at Chichester District Council. "The idea is to promote gradual weight loss which is healthier and more sustainable for the future. The groups are small and friendly and excellent value."

People who join the workshop before 12 September will automatically be entered into a special prize draw to win a delicious box of seasonal vegetables and the course for FREE.

Wendy Baker, from Chichester, lost more than a stone in 12 weeks.  "It is not pushing any products, you're speaking to someone with a solid nutritional background and the groups are smaller, so you have that personal contact," she says. "It is about being focused on what we should eat to make ourselves healthy, not just how to lose weight."

"Wellbeing Weight Loss has changed my life," says Malcolm Squires, from Selsey. He lost two stone in 12 weeks. "I've tried lots of different diets before including some tablets from my GP, but this is different. It's a total lifestyle change and it's about eating well, eating healthily and exercising. I would advise anybody who needs to lose weight to go for it and join."

Paula Smith, from Chichester, lost just under two stone in 12 weeks: "It will be the first time in my adult life that I have actually lost weight without being on a 'diet'. I have learnt so much about food and I am more educated in what I put into my body thanks to the course."
