Italia in Piazza will be setting up stall on Saturday 15 July thanks to a partnership between Midhurst's Town Team and Chichester District Council's Economic Development Team.

As well as the usual array of fine and authentic Italian fare there will be an additional stall selling real leather goods and clothing.

From 10am a local car enthusiast will also be bringing a touch of Italian luxury to the town by staging a display of Alfa Romeo cars.

Displays will be held outside the South Downs Centre thanks to the South Downs National Park Authority, and also in the Market Square.

Popular Midhurst cafe Fitzcanes will be bringing its retro ice cream trailer, Lolly, to refresh the crowds, while visitors will also be able to enjoy live accordion music throughout the day.

"The Italian Market is always a very popular event in Midhurst and I am pleased to see it returning to the town again this summer," says Councillor Tony Dignum, Leader of Chichester District Council. "The Market Square is a wonderful location for this type of event and I hope visitors from further afield will also be tempted to venture out for some authentic Italian produce.

"After stocking up in the market, people can enjoy all that Midhurst has to offer, with its wide range of independent shops and places to eat as well. There are lots of things to see and do in the area and we hope that people will take time to explore and discover this wonderful town."

The market will run from 9am until 3pm.
