Be a space explorer at The Novium Museum

The Novium Museum in Chichester is offering visitors the chance to become Space Explorers for a night.

The event, which takes place on Friday 19 May, 6pm - 8pm, is part of the annual Museums at Night, an international festival in which museums from all over Europe open their museums after hours.

Visitors will take part in a space themed museum trail, before taking the 'rocket lift' into space for family friendly demonstrations in our Tim Peake Gallery, as well as taking part in themed craft activities.

Following the recent launch of the Chichester Box Office, based at The Novium Museum, event tickets can now be booked online. To celebrate this new booking facility, The Novium Museum is giving away a space themed bundle of goodies to one lucky winner. Tickets cost £5 per person, and everyone who books their tickets online before Thursday, 18 May will be entered into the draw, with the winner announced on the night of the event.

The prize bundle includes; a child sized space suit, space sticker book, space ice cream, glow in the dark stars and other novelty themed items.

The Tim Peake Exhibition, which launched in December 2016, follows Tim Peake's astronomical adventure, from growing up in Chichester to becoming the first British European Space Agency astronaut.

Sponsored by Air Products, Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth and Vanderbilt Homes, the free exhibition has been hugely popular - with visitors travelling from as far away as America to learn about the local astronaut's extraordinary journey.

Manager of The Novium Museum, Cathy Hakes, said: "Museums at Night provides a unique opportunity to see the museum when visitors don't usually get to be there. Visitors to the Tim Peake exhibition have been so inspired by Tim's journey, and this is set to be a fun event for all ages to enjoy."

Space Explorers is suitable for all ages, and can be booked  online  or by calling The Novium Museum on 01243 775888 and selecting option 1.
